Artist Trading Card with Doodle Flowers

Lindsey (@doodlings_cards) here to remind you there’s still time to join in with this month’s moodboard challenge 😊 I made an artist trading card using the moodboard colors and one of the Doodle Flowers stamps.

Using the moodboard colours as my inspiration, I pulled out some green, yellow and purple gelli prints; heat embossed one of the “Doodle Flowers” in white and die cut some embellishments.

I used the grid from the “Mixed Media Marks 1” set to add a bit of interest to the background.

I do love a bit of bling 😁, so for this project I reached for my irridescent Angelina fibres.

If you’ve not used them before, a little goes a long way. They’re a bit like glitter, though; once you open the bag, bits escape and you find them everywhere for days afterwards!

You need to use heat with Angelina fibres (a heat gun or iron is fine). They change composition when heat is applied and the pile of tiny fibres melts and bonds into one piece. I find it easier to use a heatproof mat folded with the fibres trapped inside. Then keep checking until they’ve melted and bonded sufficiently.

I glued all the different parts down and started embellishing …

First, stitching …. and finally some pearls and diamanté.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you find some time to craft this weekend 😊

Lindsey xx
