Hello friends!!! Ready for another project from the archive? This one was made by Priss! She shared a tutorial<\/a> for a bunch of backgrounds a while back and today’s tag is made with one of them. It’s the turn of a tag using background number 5 \u201cStenciling with Texture Paste\u201d<\/em> and the adorable stamps from the Textured Sea Creatures<\/a> set. A tag full of layers and textures, so come with me and let me inspire you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the past we shared a video tutorial showcasing 7 innovative ways to use our new stencils<\/a>. However, if you’re new to Mixed Media, simply learning how to use stencils isn’t enough. You also need to know how to effectively use those backgrounds. Today, I’ll be explaining how I created this tag to inspire you and provide guidance for creating your own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I created this background using stencil Marks 1, which is no longer available, and Paper Texture Paste, adding pigments to color the paste. Marks 3<\/a> is a perfect replacement for the stencil!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To create my design, I started by stamping some shells using black permanent ink. Then, I added some white swirls using embossing powder. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I applied blue and turquoise pigments onto the white parts of the paper and added antique gold pigment to give it a subtle golden shimmer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
