Hello, my sweet friends!<\/span><\/p>\n

Welcome to a fun tutorial using the super cute\u00a0Garden Cats<\/a>\u00a0stamps set.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last week my son asked me about a combination of art techniques he wanted to use in class for a project and he wanted to know if it would work.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His mixed media project involved creating a drawing with Manley wax crayons and then creating a background with lots of water, applying acrylic paint like crazy over the water’s surface.<\/span><\/p>\n

After that, I think what happens if I apply his techniques with these gorgeous stamps that I love. So I imagine this lovely scene in my mind.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

First, I stamped the cats and the flowers with white embossing powder on my Art Journal double-page spread. I then applied wax crayons to the stamps and rubbed them lightly with my fingers.\u00a0It doesn’t matter if we go outside the borders of the stamps.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then it was time to play with water and acrylic paints. Only in my case, I preferred to try both spray and powder pigments.<\/p>\n

As you can imagine, I was super upset with this result. So I started to improve it with colored pencils and distress oxide inks for the grass and flowers.<\/p>\n

For the grass, I was applying different shades of green with the colored pencils making thin lines from bottom to top in an irregular way. And I was also covering discolored areas with the oxide inks.<\/p>\n

In the next image, you can see the grass in more detail.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the sky, I was applying gently with a makeup brush a light blue ink to cover the areas with less color.<\/p>\n

Then I’ve been applying a bit of darkness around the edges with a darker shade of blue.<\/p>\n

Finally, I added some splatters with white liquid paint.<\/p>\n

Then I painted the cats apart with watercolors and cut them out to stick on top.<\/span><\/p>\n

But something is missing in this beautiful feline love scene, don't you think? A moon would look great, so I stamped one from the\u00a0Night & Day Big stamp set\u00a0and some clouds as well. \n<\/span><\/pre>\n
Now I leave you with some photos of my finished page. For the sentiments, I took these from the\u00a0Purr-fect!\u00a0stamp set.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
