Colourful Mixed Media Art Journal Page with Pencil Marks 4

Hi there, Susanne here with a mixed media art journal page in one of my handmade junk art journals using collage, Derwent Inktense pencils, liquid charcoal, mark making, background stamping and flowers from our Pencil Marks 4 stamp set.

I started the background of this page with different collage papers such as gelli prints and scrapbooking paper. I adhered the torn pieces with a glue stick and covered the whole spread with a layer of clear gesso. I am using the Derwent Inktense pencils after the gesso was dry to bring in colour. I scribbled just a little bit of the pencils onto the background and blended them with water. To bring in some grungyness I also added some black liquid charcoal. Once this was dry I added a little bit of background stamping with images from Collage Elements, Mixed Media Marks 1 and Pencil Marks 1.

I added some markmakings with Neocolor II crayons. My flowers are embossed in black powder to watercolor paper. I coloured them with Brusho powders and cut them out. I adhered them together with a few more collage paper bits to my page.
