Door Sign with Inky Friends & Alphabet Uno

how are you all?

Today I thought I’d make a little sign to hang in my hallway.

I started by creating a gelli print background with the gorgeous Ink Dots stencil. I often make these backgrounds by putting 3 complimentary colours on my gelli plate (the lightest one in the middle so I can blend it with the ones either side).

I stamped the butterfly several times on some ledger paper and cut them out.

I also stamped the letters for my word on a scrap of gelli print. The ink was quite wet so I embossed it with clear powder.

I cut a strip from the background and glued on my letters and butterflies. I thought the top half looked a bit bare so I added some black splatter and mark making.

Finally I mounted the sign on a piece of card and added some wire for hanging it up.
