Watercolor Index Cards with Pencil Marks 2

Hi there, Susanne here with a stamped watercolor index card. The card background is made with some loose watercoloring on a watercolor cardboard which I’ve cut to the size of 4″ x 6″. I added stamping with images from Pencil Marks 1 and Pencil Marks 2 and did some mark making with Posca paint pens. I’m sharing a quick process clip when you scroll down.

I tried to make the watercolor background kind of dramatic with a high contrast and some granulating watercolor. I worked in two layers. The first was a wet in wet blending, after this was dry I added some cloudy shapes on top using the same colours. Once the background was dry I added the stamped images in different colours, that were matching the background. I used a light yellow posca pen to bring in some highlights and coloured the botanical with light pink to make it stand out.

Here is a glimpse into the process:

I hope I could inspire you a little bit, thanks for stopping by today!

xx Susanne
