Art Journal Page “Merry Mushroom Magpie”

Hello, Samantha with you today and I’m sharing a page ready for my art journal. 

This was my first time using the Merry Magpie stamp set, I have to say this bird is such fun to use and a great size and shape as looking at him moves the eye around the page. He’s so handsome just left as a black and white image surrounded by colour making him pop off the page.

I also used the Sketchy Flowers #1 and Textured Mushrooms, this gives the magpie a lovely environment to spend his time in and Vintage Postcard text just adds a little background detail.

It was a easy page to create, I coloured everything using watercolour paints, the shading is also watercolours.

I finished my page with inky splats and highlights with a white Posca pen.
