Patchwork Cards with Scraps and Butterflies

Hi there, Susanne here sharing a card making video using stamps from our new Butterflies and Moths on a patchwork background made with collage fodder. I am using up some of my gelli print scraps today!
I collected together an autumnal color palette from all my collage paper scraps. These are mainly gelli prints this time. For the backgrounds I adhered some torn pieces randomly directly to the card with a glue stick. I tried not to think too much about where to put what. I wanted this process to be easy and relaxing. This is a really quick way to make card (or any other) backgrounds and to use up some of your paper scraps.
Once the backgrounds where done I stamped two stamps from the Butterflies and Moths stamp set with Versafine Clair in black to Canson Mix Media paper. I immediately covered the stamped images with clear embossing powder. The embossing would resist the metallic watercolors, that I used to colour the butterflies. Metallic watercolors are perfect for butterflies. They give them a really lovely shimmer. Once the butterflies were dry I cut them out and adhered them to the cards. I also put a stamped greeting to the bottom.
Here is a video tutorial for you:
