Art Journal Inspiration with Distress Inks & Inky Flowers

Hi everyone, it’s Hege here! Today I want to show you an art journal page I’ve created, using distress ink and a beautiful stamp from the Inky Flower Clear stamp set.

I have different art journals. In this book I have some backgrounds I have made when cleaning my desk while spraying, painting or inking. Some days I want to create in my art journal, but find it difficult to start, – the blank page kind of scares me. So it is so much easier to start when the background isn’t all white! The background I have used today is made by “mopping up” distress ink splashes from my studio mat, creating a random pattern. – a super start of a art journal page! It almost looks like a world map.

I have outlined some of the splashes with a black pen. The leaves on the stamp are coloured using water colour paint. The page was completed with a sentiment.
