AHOY! Greeting card with Gelli Background

Hey there, it’s Evi on the blog today and I’ve got a greeting card for you using the AHOY set and a Gelli Background. The AHOY set is Stamp set of the Month June and 10% off and it’s perfect for summer cards.

Because summer is just around the corner, the AHOY set is perfect to make you want to go to the sea. I started by heat embossing the lighthouse and the ship with white embossing powder on vellum and cut it out. I also embossed the waves on vellum by coating the stencil Organic 2 with embossing ink and then sprinkling the white embossing powder over it and heat embossed it.

For the background, I used the Stencil Organic 4 and the Big Triangles on the Gelli Plate to create a dream in pinkish red. I added accents from the Mix It Up 4 stamp set and the birds from the Ahoy set to the background. I also added a few splashes of bronze. Then I sewed on the ‘waves’ and the lettering and glued on the ship and lighthouse with glue dots.
