Mixed Media Index Cards with Collage and Derwent Inktense Background

Hi there, Susanne here with a creative project from our archive! I am sharing two mixed media index cards using Collage, Derwent Inktense and mark making together with stamps from Pencil Marks 1 and Mixed Sentiments 1. (This set is no longer available, but our Mix A Sentiment set is a good alternative)

You can use this technique not only on icads, they are also perfect for art journal pages, tags or even some artsy greeting cards.I cut these cards (3.5″ x 5″) from heavy weight watercolor cardboard and adhered different collage papers with a glue stick. After this was dry I used Derwent Inktense pencils to bring in some color. To bring in some highlights I used the white ArtGraf Tailor Shape with water and a brush. I did some background stamping with images from Pencil Marks 1, Pencil Marks 2 and Retro Beach. With a turquoise and blue Neocolor II crayon I added some mark making.

I stamped the botanical elements from Pencil Marks 1 not only to the background, I also stamped them onto some gelli prints and cut them out. I adhered them onto the cards.

The words are from our Mixed Sentiments 1 stamp set (This set is no longer available, but our Mix A Sentiment set is a good alternative). I embossed them in white to black cardstock.
