Cards with Grungy Butterflies in Coral

Lindsey (@doodlings_cards) here with you again.

The weather here in the UK has been decidedly dull and dismal all month, so I reached for some warm and cheerful colours. 😊

I opted for one of my favourite sets – Grungy Butterflies – and used watercolours with one of the smaller images.

Then I looked through my rather large pile of “Blue Peter” backgrounds (English joke, sorry to any international readers – it means ready prepared) to find a complementary background for my coloured butterflies.

In keeping with my “warm” colours, I chose a yellow background with hints of green.

If I remember correctly, the background was done with a brayer and distress oxide inks, with background stamping using the Mixed Media Marks 1 and Pencil Marks 1 sets.

I gathered together some embellishments, fabric and tissue pieces and glued them all down.

I’ve written a blog post on my tissue paper pieces HERE if you’d like to take a look.

As you may have noticed by now, I tend to include stitching on all of my projects!

And a bit of bling, using my stash of sequins, pearls and diamanté 😆

It’s been fantastic joining the Rubber Dance DT this month; thank you Susanne for the wonderful opportunity.

I hope I’ve given you a couple of ideas and inspired you to get inky 😊
