Mixed Media Index Cards with a Brusho Background and our new Stencils

Hi there, Susanne here! I am participating in this years #icad2023 challenge over on instagram. Icad means index card and I am “decorating” one card each day in June and July. I cut my cards from either watercolor or mixed media paper. It’s holds a lot more supplies than a regular index card and I also don’t have index cards at home. Today I want to share two icads with a brusho background and flower stamps from Pencil Marks 4 (clear version) and Mix It Up 3 (this stamp set is no longer available!)

I used a Stencil on the card first (Criss-Cross and Marks 1) and applied some heavy gesso through it. The gesso resists the Brushos which I’ve used to add color to the background. This gives an interesting texture. To finish up the backgrounds I added some more stamping. Scroll down to watch the full process.

The flowers on the left card are colored in with water-based markers. I adhered some collage paper scraps under the flowers to make look everything more cohesive.

For the one on the right I stamped the flower from Mix it Up to some tissue paper and adhered it with Gel Medium.

Today it’s the last day to save 10% on our new release! Don’t miss this!

I hope you like my cards!

xx Susanne
