Mixed Media Tags with Neocolors and Sketchy Flowers

Hi there, Susanne here with two “mixed media” tags using Neocolor II crayons together with stamps from our Sketchy Flowers 3 and Mixed Media Marks 1. Neocolor II are water-soluble and perfect to create backgrounds, make marks and also colour in stamped images.

I am working on Canson XL watercolor paper and I cut those tags with a die and my Sizzix Big Shot. I then scribbled down some Neocolors in Orange shades and a bit of Jade Green. I then used water and a brush to move the colours around. Don’t mix them too much to avoid getting a muddy background.

After the background had dried I added some background stamping with images from Mixed Media Marks 1 using StazOn inks in black and a light turquoise. I aslo added some acrylic ink splatters in turquoise and white.

I stamped the flowers from Sketchy Flowers 3 and coloured them in with the Neocolors. I scribbled them directly to the flowers and then blended them with a brush and water. I did that very loosely.

I used the “Thank you” sentiment form the Sketchy Flowers 3 set, stamped it to a separate piece of cardstock and adhered it to the tags.
