Altered Playing Cards with our new Butterflies

Hi there, Susanne here with two altered playing cards using stamps from our new Butterflies and Moths and A to Z stamp sets. All our new sets are 10% off until Sunday, August 4th! I am using old cards from my grandmother and collage together with Neocolors on the background.

I started these cards by adhering some collage papers with a glue stick. To make that permanent I covered the cards with a thin layer of clear gesso. Once this was dry I added some color with Neocolor II crayons in a turquoise and brown shade.
For my focal images I stamped two of hte butterflies with Versafine Clair in black. I cut them out and colored them by dipping them into some Distress Inks. I used Rusty Hinge and Peacock Feathers. I let them dry and then covered the whole butterflies with a layer of clear embossing powder.
Before I adhered the butterflies I did some more background stamping with images from Mix It Up 5 and Mix It Up 6. I also inked the edges with a black watercolor pencil.
I used some of the A to Z letters, stamped to some vintage paper, to create a title for each card.

Here are some close-up images:

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! Thanks for stopping by today!

xx Susanne
