AHOY! Mixed Media Bookmarks with Embossing

Hey there, it’s Evi today with a new blog post with bookmarks out of milk cartons with stamps from the AHOY set. It’s a fun upcycling project!

I made these bookmarks from old milk cartons. I removed the outer layer and then primed the base with white paint. I applied a dark blue to the lower half and then applied a distress texture paste over the stencil Organic 2 with a spatula. I painted the top half in a lighter blue and used stamping ink to apply red and yellow tones to the corners.

Then I made stamp impressions in the upper part with white stamping ink and heat embossed them in white as well. I chose the ships and the lighthouse from the AHOY set and stamped them and painted them with watercolors and then cut them out.
I then glued the ships onto the bookmarks and put a thread underneath as an accent. In the lower part I have stapled the ahoy stamp on white cardboard.

I hope you liked the way of reusing the milk cartons und will try something like that as well.
