Abstract and Messy Art Journal with Pencil Marks 3

Hi there, Susanne here with a mixed media spread in my handmade junk art journal using a lot of collage fodder from my stash and also a bit of my handmade washi tape combined with acrylics and the rainbow from Pencil Marks 3.

For the background of this page I used handmade collage papers and some handmade washi tape (Video is linked at the bottom of the post). I adhered the papers with a glue stick and covered the whole spread with a layer of clear gesso. To bring in some white space I also applied some heavey white gesso. I brought in some colour with neon pink acrylic ink and acrylic paint in yellow and turquoise. My focal image, the rainbow, is stamped to gelli prints and cut apart. On this spread I only used the non-textured parts.

To add interest I scribbled some words with the Stabilo Marks All in black dipped into water. I used that pencil to make even more marks on the page. The sentiment is from our Mixed Sentiment 1 stamp set.

I adhered a little tab to the right side of the spread. I stamped the word “possibility” from our Mix A Sentiment set.
