Abstract Painting with Watercolors & Mixed Media

Hi there, Susanne here sharing an abstract painting. I am working with watercolors, tinted charcoal, pencils, crayons and stamps from Stitching Borders, Mix It Up 6 and Collage Leaves 2.

I started by painting square shapes to build a bigger square with watercolors and the tinted charcoal from Derwent. I added some mark making with water-soluble pencils into the wet paint.
Once dry I brought in some stamping to create depth and even more texture. I used images from Stitching Borders and Mix It Up 6. As my focal point I stamped one of the Collage Leaves 2 and coloured it in with a white pencil and a white Neocolor. I added some more mark makings with a few Neocolor II crayons and three tiny bits of collage paper.
