Journal Page Inspiration featuring Sketchy Leaves Stencils

Hey! It’s Laura on the blog and today I’m sharing an inspiration post from my Art Journal using stencils Sketchy Leaves 5 and Sketchy Leaves 3 (no longer available) both in my gel prints but also as the focal image!

For my journal page I created a collage from piece of gel prints that I had made. I like to cut a piece of card to size to fit my journal and then add my collage pieces to that first. I then can trim it down, round the corners and glue it into my art journal.

You will see a variety of stamps and stencils in my background. I predominantly used Sketchy Leaves 3 and Sketchy Leaves 5 and then stamps from Mixed Media Marks 1, Mix it up 1, Mix It Up 5 and Mix It Up 6 I love to mix my stamps and stencils when creating!

My focal image was from Sketchy Leaves 2 but you can use ANY of the leaves stencils to create your focal image. I used shimmer powders on watercolour cardstock and then fussy cut the image out. I added some cotton thread behind it for added texture and a sentiment from the Mix A Sentiment stamp set which is white heat embossed on black card.
