Art Journal Page Tutorial with Waterolors and Inky Flowers

Hi there, Susanne here sharing a mixed media art journaling tutorial using a fun watercolor technique combined with our Mini Marks stencil and stamps from Inky Flowers and Mix It Up 4.

The technique I am using is something we all probably did in kindergarten. I am adding paint in different places of my double spread and then press the pages together! That gives some amazing patterns and textures. I have primed the pages with gesso to prevent the paint from sinking into the paper. I applied three layers of paint. To avoid getting mud, I dried each layer in between. Once I was happy with my background I applied some white gesso with my fingers and added a bit of stencil texture with one of the Mini Marks stencils. For more interest and texture I added a bit of stamping with images from Mix It Up 4. As my focal point I used some images from our Inky Flowers stamps. I coloured them with watercolors and stamped the leaves directly to the page. I made a sentiment with our Mix A Sentiment stamp set.
