Mixed Media Art Journal Page with Layered Stencil Background

Hi everyone! Szilvi here with an art journal page process video using one of the cute flowers from Pencil Marks 4 as my focal image combined with the circle stamp from Mix It Up 1! I started this page with a collage. It helps to get me in the mood to create.

Once the glue was dry, I smeared paint on the page with my fingers. The way the pattern of the paper shows through the paint in places gives the page a nice texture.

I stamped the background with a few pieces from the Mix It Up 1 set, then erased the Lattice stencil pattern to add more texture to the page. Of course, the dots are not left out either, because I love them, they always add a playful touch to the creation. For this I used the Mini Ink Dots stencil.

I’ll be honest, I was thinking of cutting this stencil up to make three little stencils. 🙂 For the time being, I have not yet committed this act, because it is so beautiful.

While the page was drying, I stamped one of the flowers from the Pencil Marks 4 set on watercolour paper and cut it out. I positioned the Mix It Up 1 round stamp on the page so that I could adhere the flower to it to create a simple little composition. I left the flower painting to the end.

You can watch the process in the video below:

Thanks for stopping by for a while today. Have a nice day!

Hugz,

Szilvi
