Mixed Media Art Journaling with old Tea Bag and Sketchy Birds 2

Hi there, Susanne here sharing a mixed media art journal page using some old stamped tea bags for a collage background and one of the cute birds from our Sketchy Birds 2 stamp set.

I started the page by adhering the tea bag pieces with some clear gesso. I had them stamped with images from Mix It Up 6 and Mix It Up 5 before.
Once the gesso was dry I added color with some turquoise Neocolor II crayons. I made some splatters and marks with a fern brush. To add depth to the page I used the masks from our Sketchy Leaves 5 stencil together with Paynes Grey acrylic paint and created a botanical scene. As my focal image I picked on of the cute birdies from Sketchy Birds 2. I colored it with Derwent Inktense pencils in Cadmium Orange and Iron Blue. To make everything look cohesive, I added some orange to the background as well.

To finish up the page I added a handwritten sentiment with acrylic paint markers.
