Winter themed Art Journal Page with XMas Trees

Hi there, Susanne here with an atmospheric art journal page using Distress Inks together with our brand new XMas Trees stencil. All our new products are 10% off until Sunday, October the 20th.

I started this art journal page with some Distress Ink blending using Chipped Saphire and Scattered Straw. To turn the “sky” more pinkish I used also Distress Oxide in Worn Lipstick. To bring in texture and depth I sprayed water through our new Stars 1 stencil and let it react with the inky background. After around 30s I dabbed it off with a paper towel. I added a few extra splatters with the Distress spray bottle.
Once the page was dry, I added some stenciling using the XMas Trees stencil with Chipped Saphire and Distress Oxide in Peeled Paint. I adhered two strips of old book paper to the bottom of the page. By chance it was a page from a German Christmas book and had the title “Der Tannenbaum” on it.

I created a forest scene with some trees that I made with the gelli plate and an older gelli print. I covered the plate with white acrylic paint, laid the masks of the XMas Trees stencil on it and put the old gel print on top. I pressed it down quite well and made sure the paper hit the plate in between the masks, so it got transfered well. I pulled the print, waited for it to dry and cut out the trees.
I adhered the trees directly to the spread with some craft glue.
