Mixed Media Art Journal Page with Distress Ink Background

Hi there, Susanne here sharing a mixed media art journal page with a Distress Ink background, metallic watercolors, our Ornament stencil and stamps from our Mix It Up 7 set. I also used a collage ephemera piece as my focal point. Scroll down for a video tutorial.

I started the page by stamping the background with stamps from Mix It Up 7 with permanent black ink. In my next step I layered Distress Inks in Bundled Sage and Rusty Hinge with a mini Gelli Plate onto the background. To bring in texture I used Distress Oxide in Peacock Feathers with the Gelli Plate and also with our Ornament stencil.
To bring in more highlights, I made some splatters and marks with the white Viarco Art Graf crayon.

My focal point is a collage fodder piece I made for the #100daysproject2025. I used a butterfly from our Butterflies and Moths stamp set, which I stamped with black embossing powder and colored with metallic watercolors.
