Bright Art Journal Page with Distress Ink Background

Hi there, Susanne here sharing a mixed media art journal page with a Distress Ink background and stamps from our Pencil Marks 8 and Pencil Marks 4 sets used on the focal point. I also used our Ornament stencil to bring more texture on the background. Scroll down for a video tutorial.

I started the page by layering Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed with a plastic sheet onto the background. Once that was dry I used our Ornament stencil together with Distress Oxide in Peacock Feathers. I applied the ink to the stencil, spritzed it with water and then “stamped” it to the background.
Once the background was dry I added a big swoop of black acrylic paint to bring in some contrast and let the colors pop! I made even more texture with the number stamps from Mix It Up 7 and Mixed Media Marks 1.

I made the focal image as part of the 100 Days Project Challenge using images from Pencil Marks 8 and Pencil Marks 4 together with paper scraps.
