Atmospheric Art Journal Page with Inky Mushrooms

Hi there, Susanne here! I’m sharing a mixed media art journal page using stamps from our Inky Mushrooms, Autumn Leaves and Mixed Media Borders sets. I wanted to make an autumnal spread that reminds me of a walk in the forest.

On this page I started with some collage pieces and then added some spots of white gesso with a scraper tool. After the gesso was dry I used Distress Crayons in green tones to bring in some more color. To frame my little scene I created a stamped border with some of the Autumn Leaves and one of our Mixed Media Borders. To make the spread more vibrant and energetic I splattered white and yellow acrylic ink onto the pages.

The mushrooms are stamped onto different gelli prints. I then cut out some of the heads and paper-pieced them onto a full mushroom. That gives you some very unique images to put not only on art journal pages, they are also great for ATCs, tags, scrapbook-pages or greeting cards. I drew a bottom with a black watercolor pencil onto the page so the mushrooms have something to sit on.

For the title I picked some words from our Mix A Sentiment stamp set. These were stamped onto some left over gelli printed papers.
