Junk Journal Page with Vintage Stuff 1 & Pencil Marks 6

Hello arty friends, how are you all?

I’m really enjoying playing in my junk journals at the moment and I particularly enjoy collage, the smaller the better.

Ordinarily I would work directly in the junk journal but today I have created a loose page that can be inserted, just because it’s easier for a tutorial.

I started by stamping some images onto deli paper. I like this technique because it means the image blends into the whole design and doesn’t stand out too much. By tearing the image out rather than cutting it also helps it blend in better.

I was going for a vintage look so I chose a distressed looking background and some old ephemera (stamps, old letters & documents) to create a sort of frame for my main design.

Next I glued down my main images (using a glue stick), used by some more ephemera to embed the image. I also added some little Hydrangea petals, made with my favourite Martha Stewart punch.

I then added the crosses, which I used as a template for stitching.

I made 5 holes on each cross, using a piercing tool and then added the stitching using green embroidery floss.

I hope you like it. Until next time,

hugs from Angie x
