Loose Abstract Art with Mixed Media Marks and Sketchy Leaves

Hi there, Susanne here with an abstract mixed media spread. I used watercolors together with Acrylic Inks and mark making with Derwent Inktense pencils. I did this in a big spiral bound sketchbook containing usual drawing paper. I worked with a circle layout and used stamps from Mixed Media Marks and Sketchy Leaves. Scroll down for a process video.

I worked loosely with the paints and also used quite a lot of water. Whilst the paints where still wet I scribbled onto the page with a Derwent Inktense pencil. I also applied the acrylic ink into the wet watercolors, which gives a really nice floaty effect.

After everything was dry I stamped textures from Mixed Media Marks 1. This set is on sale in April for 10% off! I added white acrylic ink splatter to get some highlights. For my focal image I used a stamp from our Sketchy Leaves set which was embossed onto a watercolor background.

I hope I could inspire you a little bit, thanks for stopping by today!

xx Susanne
