Loose Art Journaling with Watercolors and Inky Friends

Hi there, Susanne here with an easy and playful art journal spread using watercolors, mark making, collage and images from our Carved Collection 4 and Inky Friends stamp sets. Of both sets there are just a limited amount left! These will be retired once they are gone! Scroll down for a process video.

I am working with some granulating and metallic watercolors combined with some high flow paints from Golden on this page. I started by laying down the metallic watercolors loosely with a bigger brush. I then dipped in the high flow colours with a smaller round brush. I made some splatters to create more texture.

Once everything was dry I added mark makings with an orange and green Neocolor.
I adhered a piece of collage paper (a gelli print) and stamped the leaves from Carved Collection 4 with watercolors. To bring in more contrast I added some dark blue color splatters. After these had dried I drew some loose leaves with a pencil. I adhered the bumble bee from our Inky Friends stamp set as my focal image. I stamped it with Distress Ink black soot to watercolor paper. You will get a lovely watercolor look when you spritz the inked stamp with a tiny bit of water before you stamp it.

Here is a glimpse into the process

I hope I could inspire you a little bit, thanks for stopping by today!

xx Susanne
