Messy Art Journal Page with Inky Friends

Hi there, Susanne here and I’m sharing a messy art journal page in my new handmade pocket journal using a butterfly of our Inky Friends stamps as a focal image. On the background I played with acrylic paints and stamps from our Pencil Marks 5 and Mixed Media Marks 1. Scroll down for a process video.

I used acrylic paints to create an abstract background. Once this was dry I added some stamping to bring in texture and a few collage bits and pieces to build up layers and depth. As the background was already quite colourful I decided to leave my main image, the butterfly, in black and white.
For the title I used words from our Mix A Sentiment stamp set.
