Messy Mixed Media Art Journal Inspiration with Sketchy Leaves

Hi there, Susanne here with a mixed media spread in my handmade junk art journal using some handmade collage fodder as my focal image. I made this leaf with our Sketchy Leaves stencil. I combined it with a background collage, Derwent Inktense Pencils (the messy way), crayons, mark making and more stamping. This little journal is perfect to experiment and play! I will link up a video tutorial to a page that is made with a similar technique.

For the background of this page I used handmade collage papers, mainly gelli prints or some stamped old book paper. I adhered the papers with a glue stick and covered the whole spread with a layer of clear gesso. I used the Derwent Inktense pencils together with water and a brush to bring in some color.. To add even more interest to the background I added some stamping with Pencil Marks 1 and Mixed Media Marks 1.
