Mixed Media Art Journal Page with Sketchy Leaves

Hi there, Susanne here with a mixed media art journal page in one of my handmade junk art journals using collage, acrylic inks, mark making and some stamping. As my focal image I used some handmade collage fodder, which I’ve done with our Sketchy Leaves 3 stencil. You will find a tutorial for the journal and for the fodder at the end of this post.

I started the background of this page with different collage papers such as gelli prints, stamped book paper and stamped rice-papers. I adhered the torn pieces with a glue stick and covered the whole spread with a layer of clear gesso. I am using acrylic inks after the gesso was dry to bring in colour. I love the neon pink together with the light blue! Once this was dry I added a little bit of background stamping with images from Mix It Up 1 and mark makings with Neocolor and my black Stabilo All pencil.
