Mixed Media Art Journal Page with Collage Fodder

Hi there, Susanne here with a mixed media art journal collage inspiration. I used some collage paper scraps together with gesso, mark making and a stamped botanical ephemera piece from our Sketchy Leaves stamp set.

I started the background of this page with different collage papers such as gelli prints and stamped book paper. I blend everything into the page of my watercolor journal with white gesso. Once this was dry I added mark makings with Neocolor Crayons and a black posca paint pen. I also added some black splatters mainly on top of the white area. I also added a few white splatters. I did this with acrylc inks, but you can achieve the same look with thinned down acrylic paint.

To finish the page I adhered the botanical element which I had heat embossed in white on a watercolor background. I also adhered some words that I’d stamped with a stamp from Mixed Sentiments 1.
