Watercolors and Mark Making with Pencil Marks 3

Hi there, Susanne here with an easy and playful art journal spread using watercolors, mark making with Neocolors and stamps from our Pencil Marks 3 stamp set. There are just a few of this set left! Once it’s gone it’s going to be retired! Scroll down for a process video.

I started this spread by laying down some watercolors loosely to the page. I am working with Ultramarine Pink and Quinachridone Gold for my first layer. I keep everything wet to let the colours bleed into each others a bit. For more texture I am adding some granulating metallic watercolor in a green shade and some lighter green to keep everything fresh.
Once the page was dry I added some mark making using the harlequin stamp from Pencil Marks 3 with purple ink. After that I added some mark making with loose scribbles with Neocolor crayons.

I stamped my focal point, a botanical image, also from that same stamp set and highlighted it with a white Derwent Drawing pencil. I added some more highlights with a white Neocolor to the spread, too.

Here is a glimpse into the process

I hope I could inspire you a little bit, thanks for stopping by today!

xx Susanne
