Adding Background Textured with Stencils – Mixed Media Icads

Hi there, Susanne here! I am participating in this years #icad2023 challenge over on instagram. Icad means index card and I am “decorating” one card each day in June and July. I cut my cards from either watercolor or mixed media paper. It’s holds a lot more supplies than a regular index card and I also don’t have index cards at home. For today’s cards I worked with a more dimensional way to create interest on the background. I used stencils together with Texture Paste on my cards. This gives you a really interesting look.
Scroll down for the process clips.
On this card I added some stamping before I applied the Texture Paste through our Small Ink Dots Stencil. I used acrylic inks to add color and some hand-cut collage elements on top. The sentiment is made with our new Mix A Sentiment stamp set.

On the next card I used green ink for the background stamping instead of black ink. Then I applied the paste and added acrylic inks. For the main image I used the flower of our Mix It Up 3 stamp set. It’s embossed with Black Glintz powder from WOW. I combined it with a collage element and some words.

On this last card I started with the texture paste and added the stamping afterwards. It’s better to do it first, because stamping over texture paste is a bit difficult and the result is also not that nice. Instead of acrylic inks I added watercolors here. The main image is a flower from our Pencil Marks 6 stamp set. I combined it with a collage element and a sentiment.

I hope you like my cards!
xx Susanne

Dear Lorraine, I believe you mean this one: https://www.rubberdance.com/criss-cross.html
Where might I find your stencils with the abstract stars or cross-like pattern?
