Artist Trading Cards on Cardboard with Doodle Flowers

Hi there, Susanne here with a new video tutorial! Today I am sharing some mixed media ATCs on cardboard using my handmade washi tape on the background combined with our brand new Doodle Flowers 2 stamps! They will be released tomorrow on August 1st!

I started these cards by cutting a piece of old card board into three artist trading cards (2.5″ x 3.5″). I made a collage on the background with my handmade Washi Tapes. I’m going to embedd the video tutorials for these at the end of this post! After I was happy with the background I covered the cards with a thin layer of clear gesso. Whilst this was drying I prepared my focal images, the Doodle Flowers. I stamped them to Canson Mix Media paper and colored them with watercolor brush pens.

My ATC backgrounds were quite bold, textured and bright, so I decided to tone them down a bit with some light Neocolor II crayons in a light green and turquoise shade. I also added some white splatters.

Whilst this was drying I cut out my focal images. I adhered them to the cards with some craft glue and adhered a word to each of them from our Mix A Sentiment stamp set.
