ATCs with Butterflies, Moths & Shimmer Powders

Hey! It’s Laura on the blog today and I’m sharing some creative inspiration using the Butterflies and Moths stamp set. I am using shimmer powders to create some artist trading cards.

I created a couple of ATCs to share today but first I created a background. On a large piece of card I stamped out all of the butterflies in black ink and then clear heat embossed them. I added various shades of Nuvo Shimmer Powders and it created a beautiful background. Once dry I used the Small Triangles Stencil with white pigment ink to add a little bit of interest and I stamped the numbers stamp from Mix it Up 6 which Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide.

Once dry, I cut it up and created two ATCs measuring 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches and I wrapped a band of vellum around them. For my focal images I stamped in black, fussy cut them out and added some cotton thread behind them before securely fixing them to the vellum. I added a small word from the Mix a Sentiment stamp set to each one and that completed my ATCs for today.
