Mixed Media Master Board with stencils & stamps

Lindsey (doodlings_cards) with a tutorial for a mixed media master board using stamps and stencils from the October new product release. I love to have a background ready for ATCs, cards or tags!

I wanted a play with the new Sketchy Leaves 7 and Mini Textures 1 stencils and Stitching Borders stamp set but had no particular project in mind. So I decided to use them all and create a master board 😊

To start I used a brayer randomly to add 3 complementary shades of Distress Oxide inks to a sheet of white card.

Then I used Distress Inks with the Sketchy Leaves 7 stencils set – rubbing the ink pad against the mask and spritzing with water before “stamping” with the mask onto the background.

Then I took stamps from the Stitching Borders set and just stamped in no particular order on the background.

The mood board is starting to take shape! Now for some contrast with maroon acrylic paint sponged through the ovals from the Mini Textures 1 stencil. Finally, I used a gold gelly roll pen with the little cross stencil design to add a tiny bit of bling!

I hope I’ve inspired you to have a go making a mood board. It’s a fun activity requiring very little thinking! And provides you with a large sheet that can be trimmed to make several backgrounds for future projects 😁

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
