Mixed media greeting card with gelli plate background and ornament 1 stencil

Hey there, it’s Evi on the Blog today with a mixed media greeting card using a gelli plate background made with the Ornament 1 stencil and stamps from Pencil Marks 8 and Pencil Marks 1.

For this Valentine’s card I used a background that I had made with the Ornament 1 stencil on a gelli plate. I stamped the leaves from Pencil Marks 1 on it and heat embossed them in black. Then I added black accents with the Pencil Marks 8 stet and stamped and coloured the butterflies from the same stamping set on white cardstock.

I sewed around the background with a straight and a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine and then applied a texture paste on the Ornament 1 stencil. A few splashes of pink and green and accents in neon pink and green round off the card together with the butterflies and the text.
