Collage Paper Collection using and Old Book and Stamps
Hi everyone, Susanne here today. I wanted to share a nice way on how to create and store collage papers using an old book and some mark making stamps. I recently went to a book-market and grabed a very old maths book. The pages are full with numbers and because of their age they already have this yellow/brown color. I thought they are perfect to use as collage papers.
Instead of ripping out the pages and painting or stamping them I decided to leave them in the book and paint them there! So I don’t have these loose sheets of papers flying around! Having them all in a book makes it also very easy to flip through them. Today I want to give you some ideas on how to fill those pages. Click on the images and you will be lead to a process video for the designs. Instead of normal stamping ink I used acrylc paint for stamping. That gives it a more textural and painterly look.
Not only stamping is a great idea, you also can paint the papers or paint and stamp them!
TIPP: If you stamp with acrylic paints, make sure your paint doesn’t dry on your stamp! If it happens anyway I recommend to wet the stamp with water, let it sit for about 10-15min and then remove the paint with a wet wipe. If this doesn’t work you can use alcohol to remove the paint!
I hope you enjoyed today’s post. If you have more ideas on how to make collage papers, please share them in the comments!
I wish you a wonderful and creative day! Susanne
