Gelli Prints with Alcohol Inks & ATCs

Lindsey (doodlings_cards) with a mixed media tutorial for a pair of ATCs using the recently released Ahoy stamp set. For the backgrounds, I used a Gelli print, made with alcohol inks and the “wavy” Organic 1 stencil.

Here’s the background gelli print, pulled using the Organic 1 stencil. There is a full tutorial on how to print with alcohol inks HERE. You mainly apply the inks over the stencil on your gelli plate. You then use white acrylic paint to lift the ink from the plate!

The print was cut to size for ATCs 2.5″ x 3.5″ and the 2 artist trading cards were stamped with the compass image from the Ahoy set.

For the focal images, I chose two of the boats from the Ahoy set, stamped on book sheets using Versamark & heat embossed in gold, then water coloured with Neocolor II crayons.

The backgrounds were embellished with the “Ahoy” sentiment, heat embossed in gold, and stitching around the edge.
Everything ready to assemble – ATC backgrounds, boat images, white thread, and glossy enamel dots.

Here’s a couple of close ups for you 😊

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
