Huge Bookmarks with African Animals & Garden Cats

Hello lovlies,
I am happy to see you here again. I don’t have made any real new year’s resolutions … instead it’s been quite a while since I wanted to improve my self-care. So one of the things I consider for more self-care for me, is reading more often.
So my first project for this year are some new book marks 🙂

While I went through my stash, I saw the giraffe from the African Animals stamp set and went for it together with the ‘Hello there’ sentiment.
At first I started by punching some circle out of an old book page. And used both, circles as well as the neagtives, for the background. To glue them down I used some vinatage distress collage medium, so I get this brown vintagey colour.

Next I used some golden pigemts to sprinkle on the still wet background. After it completely dried, I went on using the stamps from the Carved Collection #4 stamp set together with some heat embossing powders to create some more intrest on the background.

And finally it was time to esamble everything by glueing down the matted giraffe, that by the way was stamped on a book page, and the sentiment and last but not least added some twins and bindings on the top.

My second book mark is using up the punched bookpage circles, but before I added some diffrent powder pigment colours on to the background. To match the colour scheme of the background I added some colour to the circle by using alcohol marker in diffrent shades.

On top I used a circle stencil and some white paste to have a few white spots for some more balance.
By usnig the Mixed Media Marks stamps, I added some black details to pick up the stamping colour I used to stamp my Garden Cat and the sentiment from the Affiramtions stamp set.

And here is my full Cat Book mark.

As I am a cat person and I really like the colour scheme of this book mark, I think the cat book mark turned out to be my favourite.

Which one do you like most?

Wishing you all a wonderful day

See you soon. Farida
