Index Card with Distress Ink Background and Pencil Marks 4
Hi there, Susanne here! I’m sharing some mixed media index cards today using a Distress Ink background combinded with flowers from our Pencil Marks 4 stamp set. I love putting flowers into vases. I didn’t want the flowers to have a straight stem, I wanted it to be bend to the sides for some images. Scroll down for a quick process video on how I managed to do this.
The background for this icad is made with Distress Inks. I combined it with different mixed media stamps to create some interest and texture. Another great way to make texture is to spritz water through a stencil onto the Distress Ink background. Give it a minute to react with the water and then dry it with a paper towel. I did this with our Criss-Cross stencil.
I had some of my background paper left over, I used this to cut a vase. I inked the edges of the vase to make it pop up from the background.
The flowers are embossed in white also on a Distress Ink background. If you are using embossing powder on a handmade paper you have to make sure that it’s bone dry! Otherwise the powder will stick not only to your stamped image, it will stick to the whole paper.
Here is a video on how I made the flowers:
For the sentiment I used our Mix A Sentiment stamp set. The words are also embossed in white, this time onto black cardstock. I picked the ones I wanted to use and cut them out.
I hope you like my card!
xx Susanne
