Masterboard with Carved Collection 4 & Pencil Marks 5

Hello arty friends, Angie here today with a masterboard created with the lovely stamps from Carved Collection 4 and Pencil Marks 5.

I have been very busy looking after my puppy and creative time can be in short supply!

At the moment I try to prepare projects that are easy to work on in short bursts of time, and doodling is one of the things I love and is easy to do almost anywhere is doodling.

I used Distress Oxides and my stamps on a piece of gelli print to create the shapes for me to doodle on. I tend to work in odd numbers, as well as off the edge of the paper as this tends to be more pleasing to the eye.

I really like the muted effect of the Distress Oxides and how the colour slightly sinks into the background.

I used Posca Pens in complimentary colours to doodle on the shapes.

Next I decided that it needed some black and white accents to make the colours pop a bit more.

I used a Stabilo All and waterbrush to outline the circles and leaves, then added some white (acrylic paint) stamping in some of the gaps as well as over the top of the stamped parts – this helps bring everything together.

Who knows – you might see bits of this background in future projects!
