Mixed Media Backgrounds with Distress Inks and Mix It Up Stamps

Hi there, Susanne here with a mixed media background tutorial using Distress Inks and our brand new Mix It Up 5 and Mix It Up 6 stamp sets! The new products are all 10% off until Sunday, May 5th!

I started these backgrounds (Canson Mix Media paper) by stamping some of the images from the Mix It Up stamp sets in different colours onto the background. I used StazOn inks in Rusty Brown, Burgundry and Black. As I planned to go on top with Distress Inks, it was important to use a waterproof ink for stamping.

After I was happy with the stamped images I started adding the Distress Inks. I used Aged Mahagony, Rusty Hinge and Cracked Pistaccio (Distress Oxide). I used a piece of a baking mat to do the inking, this works much better than my usual glas surface. Also a craft mat would work fine!

I hope I could inspire you a little bit, thanks for stopping by today!

xx Susanne
