Mixed Media Collage Tag with Pencil Marks 3

Hi it’s Sara Ferret here, with a little inspiration, to reuse the wrapping paper that comes with all our packages. I am going to create a lovely mixed media tag with the Pencil Marks 3 stamp set and some stencil texture using Marks 2 .
I used package wrapping paper, I flattened it a little bit and painted it with watercolors. I have repeated, the same simple geometric shapes on the background of the paper, each of the shapes with a different color of watercolor.

I added a few watercolor splashes too, all over the kraft wrapping paper. Once the watercolor is dry, I tare the paper by hand, to glue it as collage on some manila tags.

Now it’s time to create some stencil texture using Marks 2 with texture paste to the background. This gives texture and depth. Once the texture is dry, I’m going to use the round stamp, from Pencil Marks 3 set with a Stabilo Woody in purple. To be able to stamp with a watercolor crayon, you have to wet the tip with water and paint directly on the stamp. I have stamped it several times on the background of the tags.

Later I used several stamps from the same set, with Versafine Clair ink, in two colors. You will see that I have stamped the diamonds in pink and the U-shapes in blue.

To create a focal image I stamped the botanical image on watercolor paper, with blue ink. I colored some parts of the leaves with watercolor, to give it depth.

Finally I cut out the branches. I stamped the sentiment “make your mark” from the Mixed Media Marks 1 stamp set. I mounted everything on top of a tag, the branch and then the sentence on top of a piece of purple sari ribbon. I used the Posca marker to make two spots of black paint and integrate all the background together. At the top of the tag I tied also a piece of the same purple sari ribbon as the bottom.

I hope you like this inspiration 💜💜💜💜💜 If you get inpired with this tutorial, we would like to see it, tag us in social media.
