Mixed Media Tag – Stamping into Clay

Hello, it’s Sara Ferret again. That is my last post as a Rubber Dance Design team member. I’m going to create a mixed media tag with the lovely Rainbows 2 stencil and the new Doodle Flowers 2 and A to Z stamp sets.
I’m going to stamp over modeling clay today! This is a fun technique to get more out of your stamps! I’m using a manila tag, to substrate to start. I decided to put some Golden light modeling paste with the stencil Rainbows 2.

I’m going to add some watercolors to the background, pink, blue and yellow. I’m making some marks with oli pastels and some splatters with darker tone of watercolor, always the same three colors as the background.

I’m taking a piece of modeling clay, with stone look, it dries gray. I decided to stamp a flower from Doodle Flowers 2 stamp set and also a word from A to Z Stamp set. To stamp the word “#SOUL” .

With a craft knife, before the clay is dry, I cut the excess. Wait to air dry the clay.

I’m going to stamp other flowers from same stamp set Doodle Flowers 2, on top of small oval woods, and I paint the outside of the flowers with yellow and pink neon Posca maker. I also painted the word I made from clay with Posca marker.

I hope you like the idea, if you are inspired by this project I would like to see it, tag us on social media @sara_ferret @rubberdance
