Mixed Media Flower Tag with Sketchy Flowers

Lindsey (@doodlings_cards) with you today. I have a mixed media tag with a Distress Oxide stencil background, decorated with stamps from the Mixed Media Marks #1 stamp set and a focal image from Sketchy Flowers #3.

Here is an easy step by step tutorial for you: first up – decorating the tag background with blended Distress Oxide ink & the Ink Dots stencil.

Then elements from the Mixed Media Marks #1 stamped, heat embossed and glitter embossed😊 The embossing adds some lovely texture and depth to the tag.

For the focal image, a delicate bloom from Sketchy Flowers #3 stamped in Black Versafine ink, then coloured with Lindy’s Magicals for a spot of shimmer!

For my collage elements, I used a favoured technique of stamping the sentiment onto tissue paper. This is a great way to “stamp” a title to your tag. Instead of stamping you glue the pieces down and can hardly see that them once they’re stuck down. With this method you have the option to move the words around and see what arrangement fits best. I included also some white thread and jewels.

Finishing touches are stitching around the edge of the tag and a strip of mesh fabric to “ground” the flower.

Here’s a couple of close-ups …

Thanks so much for stopping by! Look forward to seeing you again soon 😊

Happy crafting! Lindsey x
