Monochrome Mixed Media ATCs with Sketchy Leaves

Lindsey (@doodlings_cards) with you today. I have a couple of mixed media ATCs made with images from the Mix It Up #1 stamp set and focal images from Sketchy Leaves

Here’s the step by step tutorial:

For my backgrounds, I used a brayer and Distress Oxide to colour a piece of card. Then used Lindy’s Magicals on an acrylic block, spritzed with water and “stamped” this on the background to add texture and shimmer.

I used a couple of the images from the Mix It Up #1 stamp set to decorate the background. I love the numbers stamp – one of my favourites!

I also used the swirly image but rather than using an acrylic block, I held the stamp in my fingers so that I achieved a partial stamping effect. I used Versamark Gold ink and then heat embossed the swirls in shiny gold.

I must have been a magpie in a previous life 😂

For the collage elements, I used my favourite trick of stamping on tissue paper – this is great because you don’t really see the edges of the tissue paper once it’s stuck down 😊

Then I heat embossed a couple of images from the Sketchy Leaves set, using white embossing powder on brown paper (nothing wrong with a bit of recycling!).

So all my collage elements assembled, I turned to my trusted sewing machine to stitch around the edges of the ATCs.

I added some tiny gold sequins as the finishing touch – love a bit of bling!

Here’s a couple of close-ups …

Thanks so much for joining me today! Look forward to seeing you again soon 😊

Happy crafting! Lindsey x
