Monochrome Card with Stencil Background and Inky Flowers

Hi from Åshild! I often have problems choosing which stencil to use for my project ’cause there are soooo many cool designs in the Rubber Dance shop! That’s why this card is über-clever! Haha! I managed to use four stencils (Wheels, Ornament 1, Organic 4 & Marks 2) AND even some stamping using the Inky Flowers set. That’s a win!

I used masking tape to create a grid of 4 squares, and used one design in each of the squares. After removing the tape, I stamped a flower on top of the stenciled squares and added some shadows to the flower by using my black Derwent Inktens pencil and a waterbrush. I also draw thin black lines under the flower to make it look like the flower rested on top of a stone or something similar.
As you can see, the card design is quite simple, all made in only black and white colors.

Here are the step-by-step instructions for you:

1. Create a grid of 4 squares by using a masking tape.
2. Use a stencil and apply grey ink with a blending tool.
3. Fill all the squares with different stencils designs.
4. Remove the tape and stamp a flower.
5. Add some shadow to the flower by using a Derwent Inktence pencil and a waterbrush.
6. Draw thin black lines from the flower all down to the bottom of the paper.
7. Add some more shadow as shown.
8. Mount the piece of grid to a card base and add a text.
9. The flower looks dimentional because of the shadows.
